A New Year, A New School Term Again

I'm sure many of you are used to hearing "there goes the cycle again". At least among many of my friends who are parent themselves, we all dread the fetching, sending, fetching cycle when a school term starts.

So another term has started for 2009 and like all parents, we had to accompany our kids to school. Ryan was fine as he is now in Primary 3...Wow! Did I just say Primary Three??? How time flies....However, The Big Kid did send Ryan to his class as we had requested for him to be transferred to a new school. Actually, the building is newly built but the school is an existing one which had moved to our housing area, about 5 minutes walk away. In a way, it is a blessing as we do not have to drive so far away, avoiding the ncessity to fight time and traffic. Phew! If not for Ryan's heavy school bag and a neighbour's fierce dog around the corner, we could have just easily walked there everyday :)

Mei Mei on the other hand had been coughing since last week and she got worse last night. This morning there was blood in her mucus, so I tried calling the paed when we sent her to school. We finally got through to the doc after leaving her in school but was told that we should send her to the clinic. Oh yes, she cried when we left :( To cut short a long story, we picked her up from school (you can bet she was her active self again :P), sent her to see the paed and was prescribed with antibiotics to take home. Due to the rush to two schools, clinic and then back home, I had to take half day's emergency leave. So, was your start of the schooling term as exciting as mine?

Blood in mucus? That sounds worrying, I hope that she's feeling better soon.
Maybe our school break is only 10 days, so my kids don't have much problem. I was pretty bad, I sent my kids to holiday programs for the whole one month holiday last time. :P

Poor Mei Mei... The coughing must be really bad. Hope it's not Bronchitis.

Hahah..my kids' school only starts on 30th Jan. So weird huh? But, still very kelam kabut la... have to immunise all kids and present certification b4 they start. Strict la here...

I haven't even filled up the form for No.2's pre-school yet. Talk about slack! ;)

Hope Mei Mei is feeling better now. I could imagine how hectic your schedule is, because my eldest sister also told me the same story like yours. She has to send her youngest son to Primary 4 in the morning (St. Paul) as well as her daughter to 2nd year Kindy (JLH at Laman Bong Chin). Then at 11:30am, have to go fetch her. 12:30pm go fetch her youngest son. Then send eldest son to Batu Lintang Secondary...! And I could imagine the terrible traffic jams during peak hours along Green Road/Saberkas area...
